Transportation Service Providers Orientation Session Summary
Collaboration with Transportation Service Providers (TSPs) is an essential aspect of this study as we examine all modes of transportation in pursuit of a multi-modal Transportation Development Strategy.
Over the past several months, key transportation service providers in the NGTA Corridor (e.g. GO Transit) have been consulted to identify transportation problems, opportunities, future expansion plans, barriers to expansion, and how they may be able to play a role in accommodating the need for additional transportation capacity.
A Consultation Plan has been developed to outline the Study Team’s approach for effectively and meaningfully engaging Transportation Service Providers to identify transportation problems and opportunities:
TSP Consultation Plan
The approach for engaging TSPs and BCS in the problems and opportunities identification process was very similar and involved a two-tiered approach. Consultation with "First Tier" organizations involved one-on-one interviews via telephone or in person. Consultation with "Second Tier" organizations involved questionnaires via letter and an e-questionnaire posted on a password-protected section of the NGTA website.
A summary of stakeholder consultation on the identification of problems and opportunities has been developed to summarize the input received.
